Image editing

                                                                      Image Editing

This is the original image which I have chosen to edit, on Photo Shop I changed the resolution to 300 DPI (Dots Per Inch) so when it is printed the image isn't blurry.

Original                                                                                                                    300DPI
On Photoshop I used the unsharp mask tool to edit the original image, this tool is found by going to filter>sharpen>unsharp>set radius to 2. pixels and change the amount by x%.

 Original                                                                                                Unsharp mask

On Photoshop I decreased the Brightness and increased the contrast as there was a lot of impurities, this tool is found by going to image>adjustments>brightness/contrast.

On Photoshop I used the colour dodge tool which makes the image darker as it increases the shadow depth. This is tool is found on the left side tool bar

Original                                                                                                        Colour Dodge
On Photoshop I used the colour burn tool which makes the image the brighter as it gets rid of the shadows of the image, This is tool is found on the left side tool bar like the colour dodge tool.

                                                                                                 Original                                                                                               Colour Burn
On Photoshop I used the curves tool which allows you to change the colour of the through RGB which either makes the image darker or lighter depending on which colours you use. This tool is found by going to Image>Adjustments>Curves.

 Original                                                                                                Curves
On Photoshop I used the Noise tool which adds a static effect to the image making it seem more retro and this is done through uniform or Gaussian. This tool is located by going to Filter>Noise> Add Noise.

Double Page Spread
This is one of the early attempts at making my double page spread I had no real structure to this as I was still getting ideas from other DPS from magazines and I wasn't use to in-design so at this point I didn't really know what to do. So I took many ideas from multiple magazines but I just placed everything down and tried to move it all into an organised place.
This was about half way through creating my product, and I started to get to grips with in-design so it was a lot easier to use and so it started to have a real structure to it, as I added headings to each column this makes it look a lot neater and easier to read, but the images are very messy as I haven't organised them or sized them correctly. And there is still a lot of blank spaces which needs filling in to make it look like a proper DPS.

This is my finished product which I would say this is as best as it can be for me that is as there is a proper structure to this as the columns are in line, along side with the images which are all the same size. I also applied some of the tools I experimented with above as the Pulp Fiction image was to dark previously so increased the brightness and contrast.
